Student Employment Coordinator
Primary Function: Oversees the daily operations of student employment and supports the work of the Office of Student Financial Services.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the Federal Work-Study program and student employment on campus by working with faculty and staff to fill open positions.
- Provides quality customer service to prospective and continuing students regarding federal work study eligibility.
- Analyzes student’s financial aid files to determine a student's federal work study eligibility.
- Interacts in a professional manner with students regarding their student employment situation.
- Utilizes and updates necessary databases, as well as processing applications for student employment.
- Required to assist in the preparation of and present information regarding the federal work study employment process and how students can find a job on campus by using various communication methods such as social media, presentations to students and parents at events, group discussions, workshops, etc.
- Answer questions, inquiries or requests from students, parents, or guardians in person or in writing regarding federal work study and student employment.
- Be well educated in financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, responsible money management and financial planning.

Other Responsibilities:
- Promotes a positive image of Hanover College and represents the college in accordance with the college’s mission, principles, and strategic plan.
- Supports and is an advocate for the college’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, goals, and mission.
- Performs / completes other projects and tasks assigned by the executive director of student financial services.
Qualifications:
- Education, Certifications, Training, Experience
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- GAAP (general accepted accounting principles) preferred
- Data management and integrity required
- Knowledge of financial aid principles and practices preferred
- Skills, Competencies, Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with PowerFAIDS and Jenzabar a plus
- Strong computer skills including the ability to quickly grasp challenging software and processes.
- Extreme accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong customer service and collection skills
- Ability to multi-task and complete work quickly
- Responsive to work requirements, responses, and quick turnaround
- Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Genuine interest in and, preferably, experience in serving the professional development needs of students
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Continuous computer work requiring multiple hours of looking at monitors and paperwork
- Long periods of sitting and typing.
- Demanding and somewhat stressful with time sensitive requirements
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality and privacy, and an adherence to high ethical standards.
- Minimal travel.
- May be eligible for occasional remote work at the discretion of the supervisor.
