About Us

Madison Railroad, a Division of the City of Madison Port Authority is a 25 mile short line freight railroad. The railroad operates in Jefferson and Jennings Counties. It serves the communities of Madison, Dupont, Vernon and North Vernon. Madison Railroad provides customized service at an affordable price. We haul a variety of commodities. Rail car storage is also offered on our 14 miles of track in a 3,400 acre industrial park. Madison Railroad interchanges with CSX Transportation, a Class I carrier, in the Whitcomb Yards in North Vernon, Indiana.
