Hanover~Madison Audubon Christmas Bird Count

Field participants will meet 8am Saturday December 31, 2016 in the lounge of Clifty Inn, Clifty Falls State Park located just west of downtown historic Madison, Indiana on state road 56.  

There is no fee for the count or park admission.  Counters will have numerous options for where and how long to count.

To maximize enjoyment, counters should bring binoculars and field guides and be prepared for the weather. The fifteen mile diameter count area is centered north of nearby Hanover, IN at the junction of Grange Hall Rd and state road 256.

For outdoor enthusiasts the annual Christmas Bird Count is a terrific time to enjoy birds whether by oneself, with family, or with long time friends or new birding acquaintances made during the count.  Just as importantly, it's an opportunity to "make a difference" by contributing to our understanding of the scope and distribution of early winter bird populations.
